These Mallard shots were taken at Lake Selmac in Oregon and also at Kutras Park in Redding, Ca. They are about 27-28". The female is all brown with orange and black bill. Small blue and white wing mark. The Male has a large, bulbous green head, white necklace, rust brown or chestnut chest, combination of gray and white on sides, yellow bill, legs and feet. The Juvenile is the same as the female but with a yellow bill. They have 7-10 greenish to whitish eggs, unmarked. They are partial migrators to non-migrators in Oregon. |
NOTE: many of the slideshows and headings
might not work right now since flash player
has been discontinued. I will endeavor to
reconstruct new ones for this and all my
other websites but it will take awhile.
Please check back at some time in the future.
Thank you for your patience, Kay
